Utilities

Central Alberta communities are serviced by all major utilities.

All communities in Central Alberta have fully treated water and waste water systems. The Red Deer River  is a common source of water for Central Alberta communities along with the North Saskatchewan River
and Parlby Creek. Several communities also access their water supply from a series of local wells.

Central Alberta residents now have more options when choosing natural gas and electricity retailers.

Shop wisely to choose your gas and electrical suppliers. Learn about the changes and how to make an informed decision. For current information on registered retailers including a rate summary, contact the Alberta Government  Office of the Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA). The UCA works to ensure Alberta consumers have the information, representation and protection they need in Alberta's restructured electricity and natural gas markets.
