Welcoming Communities Forum
March 14, 2008 Innisfail Golf Club

79 people from 22 municipalities attended CAEP's second Welcoming Communities Forum held in Innisfail, Alberta on March 14, 2008. Last year, Forum attendees heard about the changing face of Alberta's workforce and the opportunities for municipalities and industry in our region to tap into the rich and diverse assets that immigration brings. This year's forum focused on the Town of Innisfail and on how their various agencies and service providers are working together with industry to make Innisfail a welcoming and inclusive place for newcomers.

CAEP worked with Innisfail's Welcoming Community Committee to develop a supplement toolbox to be used with the Attracting and Retaining Immigrants Toolbox of Ideas for Smaller Centres developed by the National Working Group on Small Centres Strategies. CAEP received funding from Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Employment and Immigration to develop the Toolbox Supplement.

The following logo is available for use by businesses and municipalities in the CAEP region to identify them as Welcoming Communities. The logo is available in ai, pdf, and jpg formats. Please contact the CAEP office at 403.357.2237 to access digital copies of the logo.
