identified specific opportunities as prime candidates for further investigation and potential investment in the region

• Meat Snacks and Meal Replacement Products
• Protein Concentrates as Fishmeal Substitutes & Pet Food Ingredients

Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development's Agri-Food Investment Division encourages and facilitates new investment to establish and expand value added agri-processing and primary agriculture production in Alberta.  Companies and investors are encouraged to contact Division staff to discuss their plans and requirements, and to take advantage of the services that are offered.

Services offered by the Processing Investment Attraction and Production Investment Branch include:

• assistance to identify and evaluate investment opportunities
  
• providing information and comparative analysis for development and operating costs
  
• providing information and assistance for business immigration
  
• identifying joint venture partners and alliances
  
• providing information and services related to feasibility studies, sources of capital and site selection
  
• supporting municipalities to develop water/wastewater infrastructure necessary for agricultural processing
  
• connecting potential investors and businesses with useful federal, provincial or local government contacts
