Innovative Partnerships

Colleges in the Central Region have formed unique partnerships and collaborated with industry, government and community leaders to deliver innovative opportunities and solutions to address the growing demand for skilled workers.  These programs offer ongoing learning opportunities for Central Albertas residents.

Olds College
Community Learning Campus (CLC) is a state of the art high school designed to ease the transition to post secondary education. The facility will include the main school, health and wellness facility, fine arts centre, and Bell e-learning Core and projects an estimated cost of $59 million.

Based on the success and demand for its unique equine programs, Olds College will expand programming and facilities through the Canadian Equine Centre of Innovation (CECI) to advance education, research and economic development associated with this important segment of the agricultural community.

Basketball Alberta is partnering with Olds College to create Alberta's first Rural Regional Training Centre.  Developed using the Long Term Athletic Development Model, it will create a 60 hour program to bring a high level of training and skill development to an anticipated group of 80 rural athletes and up to eight coaches annually.

Red Deer College
Red Deer College offers a comprehensive learning program and is committed to providing industry specific and customized training to meet specialized skill requirements.

The Your College: Building Communities Through Learning project will inject $75 million for construction of Centres in: Trades & Technology; Innovation in Manufacturing; Business Enterprise; Visual Arts; Regional Sport & Wellness; and Health Education.

Red Deer College has embarked on Canada's first Professional Driver Certificate Program giving classroom theory and more experience behind the wheel for entry-level drivers. The college developed the program partnership with the trucking and busing industries, driver training schools, local community leaders, and the provincial government.

Prairie Bible Institute
Prairie Bible Institute offers the only Christian Applied Arts College in Canada. The Prairie Bible of Applied Arts and Technology was created to offer vocational training in conjunction with Christian education - enabling students to fulfill roles within both the professional world and the worldwide ministry of the Church.
